Thank you for taking the time to look over this, the first annual Build People salary review, from salaries collated over the last financial year.

It would be fair to say that NZ’s inflation and cost of living has had a very significant impact on base salaries this year, as employers raise salaries at amounts exceeding GDP in order to retain key people. Its also become very apparent that companies rebuilding from Covid redundancies have more money to spend on building their teams, and are prepared to invest at a higher level in order to pick from the best talent in the market. Its interesting to note that candidate behaviour this year has indicated that the normal “attraction tools” such as health insurance, work from home, and on the job benefits have been relegated in thinking to being retention factors only as people favour a higher salary.

Hence, we have provided two looks at each role, the median salary for that role in question and then a “top of market” comparison. This information comes direct from the market – collated from our placements over the last 12 months.
